44 ' Elvstrom & Jan Kiarulf Aluminum Blue Water Sailing Cruiser made in Denmark

Designer: Jan Kierulf & Poul Elvstrom Biro from Denmark

Year of build & Builders : 1987 by Oland Brothers & Henriques from Denmark , mast & boom custom build by Oland Brothers yacht builders

Dimensions: 44 feet, beam 3,75 m, draft 1,95, mast high from w. line 18,6 m, weight 11,5 tons empty , led keel 3,5 tons + diesel in the keel + water tank around the keel, diesel tank 370 l, water tank 350 l

Rudder: Spade & very strong shaft in Teflon bearings

Keel: special design for good longitudinal stability & shorter at the hull section to allow fast water flow when turning- this makes the hull easy manoeuvrable. In keel is led & diesel tank

The hull has 4 anodes break size + 2 on ruder, 1 on propeller, 2 on propeller shaft

Motor: Bukh 48 HP turbo diesel fresh water cooled, with Hurth G. box in good condition. Has 3 diesel filters ( 1 original + 2 Racor 500 + vacuum-meter for changing filters ) Motor has 150 hours since rebuilt

Propeller: Max Prop 3 blade flag fold-able when sailing

Cockpit: is made from Burma light teak

Sails. Genoa 1 & 2, high aspect , cutter sail, try sail for cutter rigging, spinnaker, genaker, main sail with 3 reefs ( new ) It has 1 spinnaker boom Selden. On the mast is a radar reflector

Rigging: Norseman , Genoa furling German Reckman

Winches, windows, tracks LEW-MAR

Anchor winch & chain: 1500 W Lofrans, 100 m chain 10 mm

Anchors: several from 15 kg up to 54 kg , on the bow is CQR anchor , Drag Anchor Jordan for very heavy seas with many conical s on a heavy rope to put it on the stern

Autopilots: Auto-helm 6000 electric, Wind vane- Aries Denmark

Gas cooker in kitchen Australian Broad-water Cutter model SS with 2 burners & oven

Heater in the saloon : Reflex Danish MK 66 with chimney trough the deck

Water-maker: Italian Technicomar 60 l /hour 2 membrane 230 V electric powered trough generators

Cooler&Freezer: Iceberg Danish + Danfos, operated trough el. Clutch connected to Bukh 48 motor

Alternator: Leece Neville 12 V , 160 A operated on a field switch & connected to Bukh engine on the opposite side of Cooler compressor . Alternator output managed with Heart Interface computer. 20/25 minutes running in the morning + 20/25 minutes running in the evening is enough to have cooled beer & freezer & electricity for batteries

Batteries: 1 starting + 3 service in GRP boxes

It has a small inverter & 20 A charger .

The boat is very fast and made 218 NM in 24 hours sailing as a maximum . It was in up to 12 m waves in Colombian waters & S Indian Ocean and is very strong. It is going very well with autopilots as well in downwind or close wind sailing .
