This boat, built in 1994, is an exact replica of the famous Vandredi Tres, built in 1971 for the French yachtsman Yvon Fauconier. That boat was meant to participate in the OSTAR 72 solo race across the Atlantic. Unfortunately, Yvon was not able to finish the race safely - he was seriously injured after being hit by the winch handle and had to ask for help from a Soviet vessel. Friday Star is built to exactly the same specifications as her predecessor, but is equipped entirely differently inside. She is a luxurious but very fast charter yacht, finished and equipped to the latest standards. Her ornate finish is in dark Honduran mahogany, inlaid with stainless steel mesh. In her very first crossing since her refit (2006) she was caught in a heavy storm in the Mediterranean (45-50 knots) and passed through without any damage or remarks from the captain. Today, Friday Star is one of the fastest charter yachts in the world.
