Valquest is a fast cruising sloop designed by Ed Dubois (although the latter is obvious to connoisseurs from the distinctive deckhouse lines) specifically for long distance chartering. The aluminum yacht was designed with care and ease of handling, including replacing the traditional reel winches with cotter winches that relieved the crew of the need to manually winch the running lines. Much has also been done to make setting/removing sails easier. The interior of the Valquest is in dark mahogany of expensive grades, polished to a very high degree. For contrast and to add "air" to the interior, the upholstered furniture in the saloon is made of white leather and the decorative inserts on the bulkheads are made of cedar.
