Moonbird was built for a private individual: a major New Zealand agricultural exporter. She looks very much like the work of Ed Dubois, who, having found his signature style more than 10 years ago, has no intention of changing it - some say the maestro has "written himself off", creating one yacht after another that resemble each other like two peas in a pod. The interiors have been designed by Rhoades Young Design and they too are not a revelation - they are in the spirit of classicism with dark wood and lots of white matt surfaces. What the boat is good at is a cruising speed of over 17 knots.
