History of the company

Norwegian shipyard Askeladden recently celebrated its centenary. It is the largest Norwegian manufacturer of pleasure boats, celebrating its history. The company has produced over 95,000 boats since its inception and continues to create new models focusing on design, innovation and technology.

This is a family company where the third generation of the Asquick family is at the helm. Now the managing director is Henrik J. Askvik, who bears the name of the brand founder. In 2012, the company merged with the Båtens Beste AS shipyard. This transaction allowed the company to optimize costs and continue to produce new products.

«We have decided to become the largest boat manufacturer in Norway," said Askvik. - And we have become one, not only in terms of production but also in terms of profit.

Askeladden is a frequent hero of Norwegian fairy tales, a small man who at the end of any story is accompanied by luck. He can be called Cinderella - that's how his name is translated - but with a glance at the fact that he is a boy.

Production

Askeladden boats are manufactured in Hagavik, Norway, where the old family factory of 7,000 square meters is located. Askeladden production is also located in Poland.

Model range

Askeladden models include a variety of boats ranging in length from 6 to 8.4 m: Cabin cruisers, with hardtop and closed saloon, models for fishing, outboard, with outboard engine, with outboard engine.caddy booth, with trawler deckhouse, centre console, RIBs as well as bowrider and walkaround models. These are small boats with both an elegant and sporty design, while the robust hull design will ensure a comfortable stay even in the calmest waters.

Features

Askeladden engineers are confident in their developments and give a five-year warranty on the hull, which is retained even if resold. The enclosures are made of plastic or aluminium. Askeladden boats are recognisable for their signature hull shape and their cleverly compact design.
