The 30th Anniversary Boat Show in Monaco will not take place in 2020. The idea to postpone the event due to the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic was discussed at the end of May. It was at that moment that two major superyacht associations - the SYBAss (Superyacht Builders Association) and the LYBRA (Large Yacht Brokers Association) - announced that they would not bring their yachts to Monaco at the end of September.
During the month, the organiser of MYS (Informa) and the Monegasque authorities were trying to find a compromise that would suit everyone. On 25 May Informa even published a statement that the show would be held on a non-profit basis. However, all attempts were in vain and the decision to postpone the exhibition to September 2021 has now been officially taken.
Next exhibition in Informa calendar is Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. To date, plans to assemble more than 900 yachts (100 of which are superyachts) in Florida at the end of October remain in force.
«We are focusing our efforts on the end of the year when we can provide the industry with a powerful platform for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show,"»said Charlie McCurdy, director of Informa Markets.
