The length of 65 feet is the magic value for Nautor. It's been that way since the first race. Whitbread Round the World Racethat the yacht won Sayula II- a Bermuda kech built by Nautor. The steering wheel of that yacht is now hanging in the Nautor office as a reminder of that glorious victory. So for almost 40 years now, yachts of this length have traditionally been the sharpening stone on which new design and stylistic ideas are honed.
The new Swan 66 is no exception - a long-haul high-speed cruiser that can be configured for long voyages as well as for serious racing on the open sea. The hull of the yacht has a very complex construction, designed to withstand serious impacts and even collisions. An innovation is the L-section stringer, as opposed to the traditional boxed ones, which saves internal volumes and weighs considerably less. The boat is available with two upper deck options: smooth deck (FD - flush deck version) and streamlined superstructure (S - saloon version).
