Farhad Akhmedov, a Russian oligarch of Azeri origin, deliberately hides his assets so as not to share them with his wife in the divorce proceedings, according to lawyers representing his wife Tatyana Akhmedova. In particular, «he organized the transfer of his yacht to a more secure company in Panama, when he realized that his marriage is falling apart», quoted by the British media Royal lawyer Dakis Hagen.

The lawyer noted that the businessman used complex schemes to hide his income, which included the encryption of transactions, offshore and fly-by-night companies.

Recall that according to the decision of a British court from 2016 Farhad Akhmedov must give his ex-wife 41.5% of his fortune. The court valued this part of the oligarch's assets at £453 million ($585 million). However, Tatiana Akhmedova has not yet received anything of this amount.

At the last hearing of the protracted divorce proceedings, the court ruled that Tatyana Akhmedova has ownership of a yacht valued at £356 million. It is about the 115-metre Luna, which Farhad Akhmedov bought in 2014 from Roman Abramovich. The boat is known for having the largest pool of any private vessel.

The Luna superyacht was arrested off the coast of Dubai on February 14 by a British court order.

Crew of 50 people living on the vessel were forbidden to leave UAE.
