A cargo ship lost a 40-metre sailboat while in transit

On the evening of 25 May the Italian sailing superyacht Baltic 130 My Song fell off a cargo ship that was carrying her across the Atlantic from the Caribbean islands totheMediterranean.

My Song was due to compete in the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta in Sardinia from June 3-6 - AS THE WINNER OF THE LAST YEAR

Built in 2016, the 39.6m sailboat was well known for her beauty and impetuosity. Last December, her crew set a new speed record during the RORC Transatlantic Race. The 3,000 nautical mile journey from the CanaryIslands to Grenadatook the crew 10 days, 5 hours, 47 minutes and 11 seconds - almost 1 hour and 20 minutes less than the previous record holders in 2015. The sails, raised on a 56-meter mast, accelerated My Song to 30 knots.

In 2017, the yacht also won the title of best sailing yacht between 30m and 39.9m by the World Superyacht Awards jury. My Song's exterior and interior design was developed by Nauta Design.
