At the same time 40% of the competitors have never sailed and Clipper Round The World 2013-2014 was their first attempt at sea. However, each crew was led by an experienced and professional skipper.

Clipper Round The World was founded in 1996 by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, who first sailed non-stop around the world 45 years ago.
