French shipyard Beneteau has published photos from field tests of the third generation Figaro monotype. Figaro 3 is the first serial monotype on foils. The foils in the design of this 10.9-meter sailboat, unlike the underwater wings of IMOCA 60 class yachts, have an inward-facing profile: their main purpose is not to lift the boat above water, but to reduce drift and improve the straightening moment without increasing drag.
