The history of the company

The Dutch company Holland Jachtbouw started its history in 1990 under the name De Hemmes. Its founder was Chris Gongriep, who originally intended to build traditional Dutch Lemsterak sailing ships. Later the shipyard focused on building sailing and motor yachts.

In 2010, the company launched the Athos 62m two-mast schooner, which became the largest yacht built by the shipyard.In 2013, the 40-metre Rainbow, a replica of the J-Class of the same name, which protected the America's Cup in 1934, won the Showboats Design Awards, World Superyacht Awards and Classic Boats Award.

Status

After the death of Chris Gongrippe in 2016, the company suspended operations.

Production .

Holland Jachtbouw is based in Zandam. This place is the centre of the Dutch shipbuilding tradition. It was here that Peter the Great studied shipbuilding in 1697.

Fleet

Holland Jachtbouw builds sailing and motor megayachts with hulls in aluminium and steel up to 62 meters long, designed for year-round use in marine and ocean conditions. There are two lines of sailing yachts of modern design and classic sailing boats. Motor boats are represented by expedition trawlers.
