Nobiskrug produces custom built luxury boats in the superyacht market which are presented here. The shipyard has no current production line models available.
In 1905, the German Otto Stork founded the shipbuilding company Nobiskrug in Rendsburg. But a landmark year for the future shipyard was 1895, when the Kiel Canal was opened, without which the company could not have been born. At first, only 18 employees worked at the shipyard, who were engaged in the construction of barges and sailing ships. Many of the boats made at that time still sail around the world today.
In the postwar years, the company switched to the construction of cargo ships, one of which was launched in 1958 Bleichen. Nowadays the boat has been converted into a museum and is located in Hamburg.
In the 60's
The shipyard entered the superyacht market in 2000
Nobiskrug yachts are under construction at three shipyards located in Kiel and Rendsburg. The total area of the yachts exceeds 500,000 sq.m. of which about 100,000 are covered areas. In 2005 the company launched one of the largest shipbuilding workshops in Europe. It was an assembly hangar in Rendsburg 160 meters long, 25 meters wide. Two hulls up to 75 meters long can be accommodated here simultaneously.
The fleet of custom boats of the shipyard is represented by sailing and motor yachts in steel for long journeys. To reduce the weight of the superstructures are traditionally made of fiberglass. Nobiskrug was the first company in the world to use this technology.
The company manufactures boats from 60 to 143 meters in length. The biggest is sailing superyacht «A», which belongs to Russian businessman Andrey Melnichenko. The boat is also considered one of the largest private sailing yachts in the world. The height of the masts reaches 90 meters, and the total area of the sails exceeds the size of the football field.
Despite its relatively short time in the custom-built shipbuilding market, Nobiskrug has achieved significant results in less than 20 years. The shipyard owns many innovations that have been successfully incorporated into superyachts. These include folding helipads, sliding terraces in the owners' cabins and much more.
