Green Marine Sojana Overview
Built in 2003, Sojana pioneered a new direction in the design of large cruising sailing yachts, which was articulated in the very slogan of the company that commissioned the yacht for its fleet - Fast Cruising. The design brief called for Bruce Farr - the designer of the boat - to tackle three things: first, she had to be piloted by a small crew and have the smallest possible heel angle; second, she had to be able to compete in long distance races like the famous ARC; and third, she had to be competitive in relatively short races like Antigua Race Week or the Sardina Rolex Cup. In practice the results have been very positive with speeds in excess of 20 knots and with only four crew members needed to manoeuvre the yacht over long distances. The interior design is equally impressive with her rich mahogany and real gold plated metalwork. The impression of luxury and richness is complemented by expensive fabrics used both for upholstered furniture and wall panels.
