The founder of the supermarket chain Helmut Horten was a passionate lover and collector of yachts. He owned several yachts and named each one Carinthia. In 1984 Horten passed away, leaving his wife a fortune of $1 billion. Heidi Horten appears to have had considerable business acumen, and was able to grow her fortune to more than $3.1 billion. She is the owner of the magnificent yacht Carinthia VII, designed by Tim Heywood.
