Jongert Yachts Infatuation Overview
Infatuation (which means "Crazy Infatuation") is owned by British couple Richard and Cathy Haskell, avid yachtsmen. Richard went from the 41-foot Hallberg-Rassy to the 136-foot Infatuation, with some very impressive milestones in between: Trintella 68, Oyster 80 and Jongert 100. He never set out to own the fastest, biggest or most expensive yacht - for him, sailing is a way to get away from earthly problems and see the world with friends. That's why Infatuation is rarely chartered - for 8-12 weeks a year at most, with the owners spending the rest of the time on board. From 2005 to 2010, the yacht made a round-the-world voyage and visited almost every region of the world. The ingenious folding keel, patented by Kongert, is a feature that allows the boat to enter shallow bays and harbors. The curious thing is that despite her impressive weight (she is, after all, a steel boat!) she is able to reach speeds of over 14 knots. At the moment, the owners are building a new, even bigger boat, the prototype of which is Salperton. And Infatuation is on sale - for around £8.5 million.
