In a recent milestone, Lurssen, the renowned yacht manufacturer, launched Project JAG, a 122-metre marvel. Delving into the intricate details and narrative behind this remarkable creation not only enhances the comprehension of the vessel but also provides a deeper insight into the project's essence.

Project JAG embodies a fusion of opulence and innovation, curated through meticulous planning and design. Nuvolari Lenard, the distinguished design studio, has masterfully orchestrated harmonious proportions. Standing at an impressive 122 metres and boasting a beam of 17.80 metres, the yacht exudes extraordinary volume. This architectural grandeur harmonises with elegant lines, reflecting a synergy of aesthetic prowess.

The interior, an eloquent testament to maritime luxury, bears the creative signature of the Reymond Langton studio. Every detail of the interior design must resonate with bespoke homage to the owner's lifestyle, transforming the yacht into a private sanctuary on the waves.

Project JAG - unveiling the certainties

  • Conforming to the client's discerning taste, Project JAG inherits design attributes from earlier yacht commissions. The elongated bowsprit and expansive al fresco deck spaces stand as testimony to this design continuity.
  • Accommodating up to 20 guests across 11 lavishly appointed cabins, the yacht shall ensure a luxurious experience. Simultaneously, the crew quarters are meticulously crafted to host a staff of 40, catering to every operational facet with sophistication.
  • The yacht's standout attributes encompass an array of exceptional features, including a helipad, a well-appointed beauty salon, an opulent spa and sauna, an inviting swimming pool, and both indoor and outdoor cinemas.
  • Moreover, an expansive dance floor, a well-equipped gymnasium, and an elevator further enhance the onboard offerings. The yacht's storage capacity readily accommodates a diverse selection of tenders and water toys, encompassing a sailing dinghy, Sea Bobs, sea scooters, windsurfs, and even a submarine.
  • Anticipation heightens as Project JAG gears up for its imminent delivery this year.
  • Lurssen's collaborative efforts with Moran Yacht & Ship, stewards of the project since its sale in 2019, have yielded an exceptional outcome. This partnership marks the culmination of a lasting association between the two entities. The vessel's realization stands as a tribute to their combined expertise, bolstered by the insights of the seasoned captain devoted to the client. Their cumulative expertise has remained an unwavering pillar of support.

Envisioning Project JAG's trajectory

Back in June 2021, Lurssen revealed that Project JAG finds a place within the portfolio of a "very experienced repeat client," who chose to ascend from a former 96-metre Lurssen yacht. While details have remained scarce, this revelation serves as a compass for the following conjectures:

  • A possible renaming to "Kismet" lingers on the horizon. The term "kismet," denoting destiny, carries profound relevance for the yacht's owner.
  • Hints suggest an ornate interior design, reminiscent of the opulent Champagne and caviar aesthetic that guided Reymond Langton's creative process on the previous yacht for the client.
  • The iconic bowsprit, replete with its distinctive jaguar motif, emerges as a focal point. This emblematic figure, though recurrent, embodies varied interpretations across the owner's previous yacht iterations.
  • The intrigue deepens as the yacht's radar arch invites speculation. Envisioned as a unique part of the superstructure, potentially housing a commodious sunbed or providing unparalleled stargazing opportunities.
  • The expectation of superlative lounging arrangements, akin to its predecessor, pervades. Elevated ceilings spanning two decks and a luminous foyer find their place within this projection.
  • Brace for an avant-garde approach characterised by postmodern elements, an embodiment of style innovation, and unconventional concepts. Past instances, like the fusion of a concert piano with a semicircular bar and a mesmerising wall of 42 interconnected screens onboard the previous vessel, set high standards, further fueling these expectations.

The impending arrival of the 122-metre Project JAG marks an epochal moment. After embarking on its maiden voyage, the yacht promises an unparalleled experience for the owner's family. A parallel hope rests on the previous yacht finding a new owner during the Monaco Yacht Show 2023, facilitating the availability of validated information about the new Project JAG that might one day become available for charter.
