Heesen successfully delivered the 55m Steel YN 19755, motor yacht Reliance. What began as an on-spec Project Gemini in 2020 evolved into a masterpiece that now graces the seas, under the attentive care of West Nautical, who have added this jewel to their charter fleet. The yacht's journey was circuitous, starting with its sale by Arcon Yachts Monaco on its 15th month of construction and later resale with West Nautical.

Now upon the delivery, Heesen’s representatives finally can convey their joy. They state: "We are pleased to confirm that the motor yacht Reliance has been delivered to a happy family. Everyone at Heesen is thrilled to witness this new yacht on the water and wishes the owners and crew fair winds and following seas."

The exterior of the new Heesen

Heesen Reliance boasts a commanding shark grey hull, a deliberate choice by its owners to bestow the vessel with a robust and distinctive character. This aesthetic choice harmoniously aligns with the muscular exterior, a creation by the renowned studio of Frank Laupman. Notably, the exterior design features the unmistakable 'shark tooth' in the superstructure overhang, a signature element that enhances the yacht's profile, making it recognisable from a distance.

After leaving the outfitting shed at the Oss shipyard in October 2022, the yacht underwent rigorous sea trials in the North Sea. Crafted with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, Reliance proudly joins Heesen's 55 Steel series, which now boasts a total of five delivered yachts and two vessels under construction (e.g. YN20655 Project Venus is available for sale). Among the siblings on the water, are the 55-metre Vida, Moskito, Laurentia, and Solemates.

Powering this 760GT marvel are twin MTU 8V 4000 M63 IMO-Tier III diesel engines, propelling Reliance to a top speed of 15.5 knots and granting her a transatlantic range of 4,500 miles at 13 knots.

The interior of Reliance

While the yacht's exterior design carries the signature of established collaborators, Reliance presents a novel aspect as the first Heesen vessel featuring interiors by an Italian designer. Luca Dini Design and Architecture has masterfully crafted the interior to exude a refined ambience characterised by warm tones and an exquisite theme. Conceived by Dini and his team, the interior showcases a geometric linear design with rich Tay wood, natural stone, and marine leather elements, creating an atmosphere of serene sophistication.

Accommodating up to twelve guests in six staterooms, including an 82-square-metre Owner's apartment positioned forward on the main deck, and the VIP stateroom gracing the bridge deck, Reliance offers an unparalleled luxury experience. The main saloon enchants with its bronze-mirrored ceiling panels and spacious layout, while the full-beam sky lounge provides panoramic vistas. The yacht boasts a range of amenities, including walk-in wardrobes, a freestanding black bathtub, and a beach club with a wellness area for ultimate relaxation.

Reliance showcases several customisations, such as an opening window in the owner’s suite and a fresh layout in the en suite.

Heesen, a shipyard to rely on

The delivery of this Heesen marks a significant chapter in the legacy of this renowned shipyard. Reliance showcases Heesen's commitment to excellence even in challenging geopolitical situations, and when delivering the yacht in the presence of Dutch authorities. The yacht promises unforgettable experiences for her owners and guests, as well as a good record for the yard as she embarks on her voyages.
