In January 2021, Sunseeker marked a significant milestone with the successful sea trials of their groundbreaking yacht, the Sunseeker Ocean 90. This vessel boasted a host of impressive features, including a spacious beach club measuring over 6m x 4m equipped with innovative X-tend sunbeds. Moreover, it saw a remarkable 20% increase in overall volume, coupled with nearly 30% more deck space, owing to its substantial beam and an upright bow design. Additionally, the adjoining hydraulic platform provided ample storage for a Jet Ski, a Williams 460 SportJet, and two SeaBobs, all neatly housed in dedicated self-draining lockers.

Fast forward to today, Sunseeker's Ocean family of yachts now encompasses a range of sizes, each emphasising performance, functionality, and bold aesthetics, with a strong focus on seamlessly connecting indoor and outdoor spaces.

Sunseeker Ocean 156: a game changer in yachting

Rather than simply indicating its length, Sunseeker Ocean 156, the newest addition to the Ocean family, is named after its gross tonnage, an indicator of interior volume. This unconventional choice highlights what sets this yacht apart - a significant increase in interior space within an 80-foot framework.

Featuring a fully enclosed upper deck with a single helm station, the Ocean 156 optimises internal volume and gross tonnage, particularly in its expansive saloon and upper deck area, which offers versatile seating, sun pads, and even spa tub installations. What's more, the yacht's design layouts are customizable, enabling owners to tailor the interior to their style and practical preferences. The absence of fixed furniture and single-level flooring throughout most of the yacht makes the process smoother.

The main saloon and cabins of the new Sunseeker

With an ambience akin to a luxury penthouse apartment, the main saloon offers multiple configurations, including an open galley and aft dining area with a forward bar, fostering an open-plan layout. Patio doors on both sides seamlessly connect the interior with the outdoor vistas. Notably, a vertical, glazed, floating staircase is a central focal point, subtly enhancing the overall aesthetics. For those who value privacy, there's an option for a central galley layout with adjustable levels, effectively separating guests and crew.

The vast Ocean 156's accommodation options include a master stateroom on the main deck, providing owners with breathtaking views and direct access to the foredeck. On the other hand, a full-beam master aft on the lower deck offers ample storage, a vanity desk, and an ample en-suite. In a standard configuration, the lower deck comprises a forward VIP cabin and two guest cabins, with the possibility of an additional sliding berth cabin for extra guests. Crew accommodation, complete with appliances and worktop space for self-sufficiency, sits forward of the engine room.

Powered by the robust Volvo D13 IPS 1350 engines, the Ocean 156 combines luxury with performance, achieving speeds of up to 23 knots while accommodating eight guests in comfort.

Sunseeker Ocean 182: redefining luxury and space

In just one month of September, this yacht was unveiled at the Newport International Boat Show and captured the 'Best Layout' award in the 80' to 98' category at the World Yacht Trophies 2023. All thanks to its innovative floating penthouse concept and intelligent interior space usage.

The Ocean 182 introduces a substantial interior volume, catering to a clientele seeking something entirely different within the Sunseeker range. For example, a standout feature is the enclosed flybridge, designed to provide increased air-conditioned interior comfort, making it suitable for diverse climates and privacy-conscious individuals. The seamless transition between outdoor and indoor living spaces sets a new standard in this yacht class.

The decks of the new Ocean 182

Notably, the helm station, traditionally located on the main deck, has been relocated to a single helm on the flybridge, creating a spacious open-plan main deck saloon. This area offers multiple seating arrangements, rivalling those found on superyachts, spanning 200 square metres and featuring contemporary loose furniture. Owners can select from a range of furniture options, such as a large U-shaped sofa with accompanying chairs or an L-shaped sofa paired with an exquisite coffee table. The interior, crafted in collaboration with the Design Unlimited studio, exudes a soothing aura with soft neutral tones and a blend of sumptuous textured materials.

An exceptional spiral staircase with minimalist treads enhances the unobstructed views from within. The galley, now positioned forward and accompanied by a generous dining area, maximises space and storage, catering to both owners and discreet use by the crew, with dedicated side deck access.

Below deck, the light and elegant accommodations consist of three well-appointed double cabins and a twin cabin, all with en-suites in the standard configuration. The full-beam master cabin provides a luxurious escape for owners, while the forward VIP cabin offers a similarly opulent experience for guests.

Powered by Twin MAN V12 1650 or 1900 engines, the Ocean 182 achieves a comfortable top speed of 27 knots, along with an extended range of 1,800 nautical miles at a displacement speed of 12 knots.

Sunseeker Ocean: expanding the horizon

In addition to these impressive models, Sunseeker has its larger offerings. The Ocean family already includes the Ocean 460, a 42-metre yacht, and the 50M Ocean, a 50-metre masterpiece. These five distinctive yachts prioritise usability and liveability, offering highly customisable interiors and open spaces to cater to owners' styles and preferences.
