With only a short time left until the autumn marathon of boat shows, it’s time to examine the stars of the show. Let’s begin with the core product of the yacht market — flybridge yachts. The most versatile type of pleasure craft, flybridge boats and yachts range from 8.4 m Targa 25.1 to 30m Ferretti Yachts 1000 and above. Thanks to their extensive volumes they offer far more space to live and have fun on the water — this is what makes them an ideal choice for families with kids and large groups of friends.

What is a Flybridge Yacht and what are the Pros and Cons of owning one?

A second helm position on an additional level above the main deck is what defines a flybridge yacht. A flybridge can be completely open or enclosed with a hardtop (on larger vessels). Some modern performance-themed yachts tend to have a small «sport bridge» with sun pads and a helm rather than a conventional flybridge with lots of seating and walking space. The extra living space outside with the added benefits of complete privacy, elevated vantage point for enjoying the surroundings and even a tender storage is what makes flybridge yachts grow in demand these days. In addition, the auxiliary helm position on the flybridge offers a better visibility for the captain when maneuvering in tight spaces or during poor weather conditions. Such minor drawbacks as higher center of gravity adding to the pitch rate and higher windage сan be effectively offset by modern stabilization systems, available for a wide range of vessels.

Here is a selection of new flybridge yachts measuring 15–26 m in overall length set to make their first global appearances at key boat shows in Europe this fall.

    Sanlorenzo SL86A

The 26.6m Sanlorenzo SL86A, the smallest in Sanlorenzo Asymmetric range, showcases the shipyard's innovative approach to layout and space utilization. The absence of the port-side deck has allowed for an extended saloon area, improved contact with the sea, and a seamless integration of the saloon and the cockpit through sliding glass doors. All guest cabins are located below deck, with the master suite occupying the full beam of 6.35 m. The aft section has also been redesigned and now accommodates a garage for a tender and a jet ski.

    Princess S80

Blending dynamic exterior lines with an open-plan layout and seamless indoor-outdoor living, the 25.1 m Princess S80 is the flagship of the brand’s S-Class and boasts a large cockpit with twin sun pads, configurable seating and a tender garage. Moreover, the main deck offers a teak dining table, a galley bar and a spacious C-shaped saloon with panoramic windows. An optional sliding roof can enhance the connection to the elements even further. The expansive sport bridge, measuring an impressive 28.7 sqm, provides multiple seating areas, a wet bar with a barbecue and options like a convertible dining table and an outdoor TV. Guests are accommodated in four en-suite cabins, including a full-beam master stateroom and a two-berth crew cabin aft. Powered by a duo of MAN V12 engines up to 2000 hp, the S80 can reach speeds up to 34 kn and offers both fin and gyro stabilization options for improved control in challenging conditions.

    Pearl 82

Designed by the acclaimed naval architect Bill Dixon and interior stylist Kelly Hoppen CBE, the 25 m Pearl 82 is a rare example of a raised pilothouse (RPH) configuration in this size range. Moreover, the Pearl 82 boasts a spacious garage capable of accommodating a Williams 395 tender and a Sea-Doo jet ski. Interestingly, the yacht offers two distinct aft-deck configurations — Riviera or Veranda — allowing clients to tailor the vessel to their specific lifestyle preferences. The yacht features a main deck master stateroom with private forepeak terrace, and an additional four en-suite staterooms.

    Pershing GTX80

The Pershing GTX80, a 23.98 m flybridge motor yacht, can accommodate up to eight guests in four en-suite cabins, along with a crew cabin. Featuring bright, airy spaces and expansive glazing on the main deck, the yacht offers a sundeck, foredeck, and aft cockpit, as well as storage for a tender and a jet ski. Powered by triple 1000 hp engines, the GTX80 can reach a maximum speed of 34 kn.

    Ferretti Infynito 80

The brand new versatile and environmentally-friendly 23.7 m yacht from Ferretti Yachts follows in the footsteps of the Infynito 90, presented in 2023, and features the same partially enclosed terrace at the bow, contributing to the yacht’s distinctive appearance. Inside, owners can choose between a classic or contemporary ambiance for the interiors. Designed with long-range cruising in mind, this flybridge yacht has a range of 1000 nautical miles at an economical speed of 12 kn, powered by two MAN V12 engines. Furthermore, the Infynito 80 features several advanced technology and sustainability features, including photovoltaic panels, a high-density lithium battery bank, and the use of water-based paints and FSC-certified teak.

     Princess S65

The 20.12 m Princess S65 is another addition to the brand's sporty S-Class lineup. Despite its sleek and low-profile appearance, the S65 cleverly conceals a large sport-bridge above, accessible via elegant teak stairs. The flexible cockpit embodies the outdoor living theme, with a large sun pad aft over the tender garage and a U-shaped seating and a dining area forward. The cockpit countertop seamlessly connects to the open-plan galley inside. The sport-bridge offers unbroken views of the horizon and features twin helm seats, a large U-shaped seating area, and a convertible dining table that doubles as a sun bed. Inside, the saloon provides a tranquil and versatile environment, flowing into an L-shaped dinette forward and a well-equipped kitchenette aft. Powered by twin MAN V8 or V12 engines up to 1400 hp, the Princess S65 can accelerate up to 36 kn.

    Cranchi Sessantadue 62

Measuring 20.15 m in overall length, the Sessantadue 62 is designed by the renowned Christian Grande and boasts a vertical bow, adding both to her bold looks and interior volume. The key features of the Sessantadue 62 include a spacious flybridge with a hardtop, a pop-up beach club in the shade of an open transom and a cozy seating/tanning area in the bow. The yacht runs on Volvo Penta D13 IPS 1350 propulsion and accommodates up to 16 passengers for a day cruise and 6 guests for overnight.

    Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid

Equipped with the latest in-house developed hybrid H-Drive propulsion system, the Greenline 58 Fly Hybrid measures 18.2 m in length and can cover up to 20 nm in silent electric mode at speeds up to 6 kn, while also reducing harmful emissions by approximately 40% compared to a typical combustion mode. Moreover, the yacht features 4 kW solar panels on the roof, which provide energy for the hotel mode and increase the vessel's range. This feature allows guests to enjoy extended periods at anchor without the need to switch on noisy generators, even with the air conditioning system running.

    Beneteau Swift Trawler 54

Celebrating 140 years of world-class expertise in yacht-building, Beneteau offers another highly livable passagemaker in its famous pocket explorer family — the 17.13 m Swift Trawler 54. The exterior of the Swift Trawler 54 features the innovative «Terrace to the Sea» cockpit concept and a spacious flybridge with plush seating and luxurious touches. In the signature Beneteau style, the Swift Trawler 54 is designed with the helmsman in mind, offering exceptional visibility and easy controls. The «Fusion» hull form ensures efficient navigation, good handling, and superior comfort. The latest Sleipner Vector Gen 3 fins with electric motors provide enhanced stability and control, even at anchor. Stepping inside, the Swift Trawler 54 boasts a visually stunning interior environment that is equally sophisticated, cozy and functional. The well-appointed galley, the large saloon, and the «architectural» flybridge stairs contribute to the boat's exceptional living spaces.

Furthermore, the Navetta 53 boasts exceptional performance and reduced fuel consumption, thanks to the Volvo Penta IPS propulsion system.

    Nimbus 495 Flybridge

The revolutionary Nimbus 495 Flybridge is the largest motor yacht built by the Swedish manufacturer so far. Designed as a small but cozy floating home, the 15 m flybridge cruiser is tailored for long-range explorations thanks to a generous tank capacity of 1700 l. A pair of Volvo Penta IPS 650 engines propels the Nimbus 495 Flybridge to cruising speeds of 20–24 kn and a top speed of 27 kn. The highlight of this yacht, however, is her expansive flybridge.
