History of the company
In 1918 Kees Amels founded the family boat building business in the north of the Netherlands, which started the world famous Amels Holland shipyard. Over the next three decades, the company has produced more than 100 wooden boats up to 20 metres long.
With the arrival of Case's son, Wiebe Amels, the company began to explore new market trends, gradually moving into the luxury yacht segment. It was not until 1991, when the shipyard became part of the Damen Shipyards Group, that the company was able to gain international recognition.
The new owners retained the brand name and developed a successful strategy for further development.

Production .
In its centuries-long history, the shipyard has changed its place of production several times. Today the company is located in Flissingen at two sites. Both sites have direct access to the sea and are ready to accommodate even the largest yachts if necessary. The yards are equipped with modern, climate-controlled production facilities. The seafront has all the necessary equipment for launching and lifting large yachts.
Fleet
Amels is well known for its custom projects, but since 2005 the manufacturer has introduced the Limited Editions concept to the market. The shipyard offered customers carefully designed models in lengths from 55 to 83 meters with the possibility of changes. To create new boats the company invited the famous British naval architect Tim Heywood.
However the company has not given up completely custom megayachts and is still ready to realize any task. Amels offers mainly aluminium and steel boats for long journeys.
The yard's flagship, the 83-metre Comes the Sun, was delivered to the owner in 2017 and has become one of the largest yachts built in the Netherlands.

Under the brand name, reliable ships are produced for people who love to travel long distances and tastefully. Many models can travel more than 5000 nautical miles without refueling, while providing increased comfort for the owner and his guests.
