History of the company

The story of Bella began in 1960, when a 12-year-old boy caught fire with a passion for water. The mother of the child then donated £12 to buy the materials from which he built his first canoe in his garage. This boy was Raimo Sonninen, the shipyard's current CEO.

Bella Boats is now a leader in fiberglass motorboats in Scandinavia. Founded in 1970s in Kuopio, the shipyard follows all tendencies of shipbuilding, satisfying demands and wishes of demanding clients.

«It was a joy of success when my neighbor bought himself the first boat that I designed. That's when I realised I could influence my own life," Sonninen»recalls.

Production of Bella-Veneet Oy shipyard is located in 5 factories in Finland, about 70% of boats are exported to Scandinavian and other countries.

In early 2003 Bella-Veneet Oy merged with Brunswick/Mercury Marine, a manufacturer of marine engines. The cooperation of the two companies has strengthened their importance in the market and formed new directions for development. In 2018, 100% of Bella shares were acquired by Swedish Nimbus.

Model range

The shipyard specializes in reliable economical boats from 5 to 9 meters in length. Outdoor boats for fishing and outdoor activities, speedboat with a speedboat.caddy booth and with the hardtop maximally shifted to the nose, S.U.V. boats with a trawler deckhouse - they're all reliable, thoughtfully functional and with modern Scandinavian design.
