Designer description Mulder Design
Brand History
Mulder Design was founded by Frank Mulder in 1979. Four decades later, he remains at the helm of the company. During his lifetime, the architect made a significant contribution to the industry and brought up a new generation of specialists. Today he is assisted in his work by Bas Mulder, who joined the company in 2000.
Philosophy
The studio tries to methodically and repeatedly work through all the stages, not losing sight of the overall picture. Each detail is important and everything is interconnected, starting from appearance and finishing with productivity, seaworthiness and so on.
Specialisation .
Mulder Design offers superior exterior design and naval architecture for production motor boats and custom superyachts. The studio covers the full range of services from initial conceptual design to final sea trials and more. Over the past 40 years, more than 700 projects have been completed and are sailing around the world.
Cooperation with shipyards.
Mulder's serial trawlers have been designed by Elling, designer runabouts for Vandutch and Aston Martin, and the studio also takes one-off orders for superyacht tenders. Among the large boat segment there are Benetti, Heesen, Rossinavi, Gulf Craft, Cheoy Lee, Moonen and others.
Landmark projects
The crowning glory of the studio's creation in naval architecture can be safely called Spectre by Benetti. Specialists of Mulder Design have developed a 69-meter hull, which is 30% more effective than classmates. The vessel has a speed up to 21.2 knots.
The team
Frank and Bass Mulder run a studio in Amstelveen. The team includes seven other designers, naval architects and engineers with a narrow specialization.
