Designer description Overing Yacht Designs
Brand History
At the age of 14, Jon Perelli Overing was an apprentice to Frank van Bentem, from whom he gained invaluable experience.
«Not only did I study, but I could go to the shipyard and see what I drew»," John said.
By the age of 18, he was able to design a boat from nose to stern alone, but was forced to continue his employment because of his young age and it was not until 1989 that he created the Overing Yacht Designs studio.
Philosophy
The company creates vessels with the knowledge of their business and counting on a great resource. Boats from studio Overing in comparison with other yachts are much easier to maintain and repair, they have more useful space due to increased draft.
Specialty
The studio's portfolio consists of custom and semi-custom superyachts from 22 meters in length. The naval architecture and exterior design are created for them. Also the firm is engaged in refit and renders services in full support of projects.
Cooperation with shipyards.
The team designs boats at yards all over the world. Among the studio's partners there are such respected shipyards as Sensation, JFA Yachts, Inace, Flagship, Sheer, Cheoy Lee, Maxi Marine.

The studio designed the hull and exterior of the 50m Indiscretion (now Noble House), which is the largest mega yacht built in New Zealand. After the rehearsal, the yacht was extended by another four metres.
Overing was the first company to develop a semi-displacement hull for Trinity Yachts. The design was realized on Mia Elise.

The designer has assembled a strong team capable of designing a superyacht to the needs of the most demanding customer. The company is headquartered in Ocean Springs (USA).
