The bodies of 46-year-old Italian and 28-year-old Russian woman were found on a 12-meter speedboat in the Spanish port city of Roses last Sunday.
The couple arrived in port on an Italian-flagged yacht on Saturday evening but could not immediately moor their 12-metre speedboat due to lack of space. Later that evening they were seen at a local restaurant. On Sunday at around 6pm local time, a port authority representative approached the boat by boat to report the availability of mooring spaces. He found the bodies of a Russian woman and her companion aboard the boat.
According to the local media, «everything points to a non-violent death».
According to the preliminary version of the investigation, the cause of death might have been poisoning. The exact circumstances of the death will be established by autopsy.
