47 days, 42 minutes and 29 seconds - a new distance record from New York to San Francisco (past Cape Horn) set by the Maserati team led by Giovanni Soldini. The boat crossed the finish line under the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco on February 16th at 18:31 GMT (19:31 minutes 59 seconds Italian time), breaking the single hull record for the Golden Route.

"We are very happy! - says Soldini - Passing the Golden Route with a historical record is a very important and significant event for us. Now the record belongs to Italy. Masegati has proven to be a powerful, technologically advanced and reliable boat. The team worked well and in difficult conditions everyone was able to prove himself. I want to thank my partners as well as Maserati, BSI and Generally, who helped us to realize our dream!

Giovanni Soldini and his eight-man crew left New York at 5:49 p.m. 30 p.m. GMT on December 31, 2012. The previous record among single hulls was set 15 years ago by Yves Parlier (Aquitaine Innovations) in 1998: 57 days and 3 hours.
