The multicoloured IMOCA class yacht driven by Armel Trypont, a 39-year-old skipper from Nantes, is cutting a wave on her way to Saint-Malo, where the famous Rhum race will start on 2 November. Armel Tripon is the only Route de Rhum competitor without a sponsor. The sails of his boat are pristine – no names, no labels. By participating in the Rhum Race, the skipper hopes to attract the attention of sponsors so that he can compete in the Vendee Globe , the queen among solo non-stop races.
