Shipbuilding giant Ulstein has taken its half-completed superyacht Olivia O out for a sea trial in the Norwegian fjords, where it was photographed by local photographer Knut Erik Haaheim.

Olivia O is notable for several reasons . She is the only superyacht ever built by the Ulstein shipyard, which is specialized in commercial yachts. And secondly it is the first X-Bow cross bow superyacht. The unusual design of the bow helps to reduce the shock of the wave, so that the bow goes under the wave, letting it pass along the sides.

For the 88-metre explorer Ulstein has engaged the renowned superyacht designer Espen Oino. «Nevertheless» the shipyard’s handwriting in Olivia O is very recognizable in its features: the vessel is reminiscent of its other projects for the commercial fleet.
