The year 2019 is a jubilee year for Boot Dusseldorf: the largest yachting exhibition is half a century old! Almost 2000 exhibitors will place their products in 16 halls of the Dusseldorf exhibition centre.

The first Boot Dusseldorf exhibition - or just Boot - opened on 27 November 1969. Then 116 exhibitors from eight countries spread over an area of 11,000 square meters and attracted 34,000 visitors. A year later, there were already 183 exhibitors, and the exhibition area doubled. In 1972, the exhibition moved to the Messe Dusseldorf exhibition centre, which had just been rebuilt for the Munich Olympics, and is still there today. In 1979 the Messe Dusseldorf halls were equipped with an eight-metre diving tower. In 1992, the maximum number of visitors to the nine-day boat show was fixed at 400 thousand people. Since then, this number has been steadily declining until it stopped at an average of 240,000 in the last five years. In 2001, Yacht Magazine established the «European Boat of the Year Award by»inviting representatives of major yachting media to jury. The award ceremony was held at Boot Dusseldorf. Fortieth anniversary the exhibition area reached a record 220 thousand square meters. In 2018, a record number of exhibitors was set - 1923.

«Boot Dusseldorf is the only trade fair in the world that really represents the whole variety of industry and market. It gathers manufacturers from more than 70 countries, its uniqueness - in the broadest range of products exhibited. 1500 sailing and motor boats have found their home within the walls of Boot Dusseldorf,"»proudly declares Exhibition Director Petros Michelidakis.

Visitors from 102 countries will gather in Düsseldorf at the end of January to find a boat for the season. The exhibition starts on the 19th and will last nine days.

«Top charter companies use Boot Dusseldorf for in-depth market analysis. They establish direct contact with manufacturers and compare themselves with competitors,"»says Mikelidakis, emphasizing that the exhibition has become not only a way to find a client, but also a powerful B2B tool.

This year's Boot Dusseldorf will host several important world premieres.

In the flybridge yacht segment, Princess will for the first time present in Düsseldorf the Y85 model, created in collaboration with naval architects OLESINSKI and Italian designers Pininfarina. The manufacturer promises an «innovative flexible layout of the galley», which can be separated from the salon at the touch of a button.

As for closed cruising yachts with hardtop, the premiere of Greenline 48 Coupe can be noted here. This is a version of the popular flybridge 14.6m model Greenline. The decision to get rid of the flybridge made it possible to place on the roof of the 48th solar panel 2.4 kW, which allows you to stand at anchor for as long as you want without entering the harbor. The power generated by solar panels is enough to keep all appliances on board, so you can stand as long as you want, but also in complete silence, not including the engine.

At the Fairline booth, a VR helmet will be used to take a «stroll around the» most anticipated British yacht, the F//LINE 33. Squadron 64 will also be available for virtual viewing.

In the boat segment at the Dusseldorf Boat Show, the Sealine C390, a 12-meter cruiser with three cabins, will be the first to be touched. In the transom of the new C390 hides a street barbecue and a bathing platform on hydraulics. With top of the Volvo Penta D6, the boat shows 34 knots«of maximum.

Boarncruiser will bring an updated 12.7-meter Elegance 1280 Sedan, which is worth a look at, if only to appreciate the new system of easy deployment of the tent Canopeasy.

It will be interesting to see the new (second) fruit of the cooperation between the Axopar shipyard and the car manufacturer Brabus. The BRABUS Shadow X00 model will be shown for the first time at the Düsseldorf Boat Show. Nothing is known about it at all, except that only 28 cases will be produced. We can expect something very stylish and luxurious.

World premiere in the sailing cruiser segment - Swan 65. Swan 65 is the younger sister of the previously introduced 78-foot model of the new line of ocean cruisers designed for Nautors's Swan by German Frers. This is a high-speed cruise boat that can be transformed into a racing boat if you wish using the racing «options package. Her know-how is an opening transom, behind which a 2.8 metre tender garage hides.

In the multihull mill Fountaine Pajot will present MY 40 - the younger brother of the model MY44.

Visiting the exhibition is not limited to viewing boats of all shapes and sizes. As always, Düsseldorf will have a diving area with a six-metre long and 1.8-metre deep swimming pool, which is small for a professional, but perfect for a beginner. The beach area is equipped with a quiet water pool for paddling and an artificial 1.5-metre wave pool for surfers. There is a rope park, a climbing wall and kayaks for children.
