At the beginning of April the famous New Zealand shipyard Alloy Yachts showed the project of its largest yacht. She will be a Philip Briand-designed 220ft sailing ketch, still known as "AY41".

The construction of the megayacht was laid back in October 2008. Since then, the world sailing community has remained unaware of the size and appearance of the future yacht.

Philip Briand was commissioned to build a megayacht capable of sailing around the world. The interior design was by Frenchman Christian Laigret, who was to create "urban comfort on the open sea".

The completion of AY41 is scheduled for the last months of 2010. Alloy Yachts has a track record of building famous megayachts such as the 173-foot Drumbeat (2002), the 178-foot Tiara (2004) and many others.
