French photographer Vincent Debann shoots superyachts in the bays of Saint-Tropez and Antibes, then uses clever photomontage to turn oligarchs’ boats into participants in military battles. The series of photographic works titled “Battle at Sea” is a metaphor for a society of extreme social stratification, where the 1% of the super-rich demonstrate their power through luxury goods to confirm their high status amongst their peers.
