Just a few months ago, in January 2020, Polish shipyard Galeon presented its smallest model with an option of beach «mode at boot Düsseldorf. With the optional folding boards and the large aft bathing platform, the Galeon 400 Fly provides maximum space for relaxation on a nice sunny day. This is not uncommon on boats from 15 meters (50 feet) and above, but this model is only 12.5 meters (41 feet) long!
It should be stressed that the «beach mode» distinguishes 400 FLY not only against the background of its lineup or other model series of Galeon.
This flybridge motor yacht is basically the only option on the market today for such a small boat with such an option.
The model got to Russia already in March. The boat was brought to the exhibition Moscow Boat Show. The founder and creative director of itBoat Nikita Gorchakov hurried to Crocus«Expo»to see it among the first.
So, here are some of the main facts about the Galeon 400 FLY.
Living space
The feeling of increased comfort, which connects this model with larger boats, is not only due to the beach «mode of the transformable» cockpit with grill bar. 400 FLY is capable to present this feeling even in a standard complete set. It is rich enough for this.
At the opening of the three-section doors, the salon and cockpit are combined into a common space for communication. Panoramic, maximum height and width glazing allows to admire the views from any point.
Galeon offers 10 interior finishes from 7,5 to 12 thousand euros.
Pleasant light matte oak, which could be seen at the Moscow Boat Show, is included as standard.
The compact galley is equipped by all necessary: a plate on 2 burners, a microwave, a refrigerator. Despite the peculiarities of the layout, when mooring the helmsman does not have to go through the galley to reach the deck - it is enough to open the starboard door specially provided for this purpose.
On the lower deck, guests will find two cabins with large double beds. Each cabin is equipped with its own bathroom and separate shower. Unfortunately, a 12.5-metre boat in the master stateroom on the midships cannot get up to full height. But this seems to be a trivial thing, especially since this cabin can be completed with a child's mattress and a full dressing table if desired, and finally turn the bedroom into a miniature master suite.
Design flaws
The engine compartment is accessed by a relatively small hatch, which makes access not very convenient, and moving around the compartment will have to crawl. This is a forced solution, which the designers went to, wishing to enrich the model with a transformable cockpit. It is necessary to notice, that at a compartment more than enough space for necessary technics.
Another drawback in the design of Galeon 400 FLY is the height of the radar arch, due to which the radiation will be on anyone who decides to stand on the flybridge in full height.
Engines .
The 400 Fly has a rich range of motors - here and the speakers, the shaft, and the IPS.
Two D4-270 DPI speakers are fitted as standard (without the Aft Lounge package) on board. The desire to make the boat more powerful will cost the client an additional 16-57 thousand euros. The preference for a drive is based not only on the price, but also on the conditions in which the yacht will be operated.
The most powerful speakers available for this boat, the D6-380 DPI, costing just over 40 thousand euros, were presented at the exhibition in Moscow.
Price .
The cost of the basic model at the shipyard is 349,863 euros. Galeon 400 Fly is probably one of the most worthy options for a combination of price and quality among flybridge entry-level yachts.
