The largest regatta in the Mediterranean , the Barcolana, ended in Trieste on Sunday. 1870 sailboats gathered at the start line, a record number for the last five years. Like lastyear, the regatta was marred by an overly light breeze of no more than 2 knots. Because of this, organizers had to shorten the course from 13 to 4 nautical miles. After 2 hours and 38 minutes and 38 seconds, the Esimit Europa 2 crew reached the finish line. The team, led by German sailing legend Jochen Schumann, won the Barcolana for the fifth year in a row.
