Overview of the Princess 88 MY, one of the latest developments in the UK.

All in a sister.

The Princess 88 MY is the addition to this year's Princess family of motor yachts. She made her Southampton debut in autumn 2013. Even before the presentation, the British said she would have much in common with the Princess 40 M flagship. In practice this means that the yacht has borrowed a hybrid hull from the older model, which is effective in both hydroplaning and displacement modes. Such a boat will reveal itself well on long journeys. When it comes to power, when it comes to economy, it has impressive sailing qualities.

The Princess 88 MY has nothing to add to its exterior and looks complete. The architects have managed to create a design where each line is in its place. The elongated side windows are in harmony with the rapid silhouette and graceful contours. As always, Princess has made an elegant yacht.

Generous

On the hospitable, spacious decks of the Princess 88 MY, as nowhere else do you realize there must be much good. And when the good is done wisely, it looks much more attractive. Simply put, 27 meters is cool, and 27 meters made at the Plymouth yard is very cool.

We'll start with the flybridge. The upper control post looks royal: the captain's chair is centrally located with a beautiful panoramic view in front of the helm. In good weather, only an abnormal will refuse to drive here. There is an unseen sea distance around, and if you want to chat, there is always a cheerful company behind you. There is a dining area, a bar, lots of seats and sunbeds.

The salon and dining room have two things: good natural light and privacy, the control station and the galley are separated from the guest areas by a partition. The crew have separate access to them.

At the owner's request, the Princess 88 MY can accommodate four or five cabins. The first layout includes a VIP cabin forward, a guest cabin with a double bed to starboard and another cabin to starboard with two single beds. Then begins the possibilities: either make a spacious full-beam master suite or split this space into two double cabins.

The territory of the crew is located behind the engine compartment. The captain's cabin, a cockpit for two and the crew quarters. The latter can be abandoned in favour of another cabin.

Two more things

The basic equipment of the Princess 88 MY is more than enough for comfortable cruises. However, if a shower asks for a balcony or a Jacuzzi on the flybridge, it's no problem - the British will delight you with such pleasant little things.

At the owner's request, the shipyard will equip the yacht with a folding balcony to starboard. It can be accessed not only through the side passage, but also through the sliding salon door. Another platform for admiring the sea views is never superfluous. It should be noted that the Princess shipyard is one of the first to offer balconies for yachts less than 30 meters in size.

As for the Jacuzzi, it fits perfectly on the flybridge. A video tour of the boat clearly shows the convenience of this layout.

The opportunity to get to know the new «Princess» is available to those who are planning to attend the London Yacht Show, which will be held from 4 to 12 January. She will be exhibited at the E250 stand alongside other new products from the UK shipyard, the Princess V 48 Open and Princess 43.
