Museo Atlantico will feature more than 400 sculptures by British artist Jason Taylor. The sculptures, depicting people and scenes from human life, are sculpted from PH-neutral marine cement and have a rough surface to stimulate coral growth. The author hopes that the corals interacting with the realistic human images will make people pay more attention to the problem of coral reef extinction, considered one of the biggest threats to the world’s oceans. 2% of the museum’s income will go towards research and protection of the island’s marine life.
