Benetti has sold a second B.Yond 57M, a 57-metre hybrid motor yacht, with delivery set for 2028. The brokerage Edmiston announced the deal, and BOAT International reported it on 22 September, the day before the Monaco Yacht Show opened. Charles Carveles of Edmiston represented the buyer. The first B.Yond 57M is still under construction and due in 2027.
What is known about the second hull?
Hull two is a sold project with delivery in 2028. Edmiston has not said which of the three stern versions the new owner picked: according to BOAT International, details on hull two remain private.
The B.Yond 57M project made its debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2024. A few weeks later the first hull had a buyer, and Benetti announced the sale on 30 October 2024; that owner went for the Beach stern. Daniela Petrozzi, Benetti's sales director, said at the time: "We are proud to announce the sale of the first unit of B.Yond 57M as this demonstrates the market's positive reaction to our new projects announced at the end of September at our annual press conference."
How the B.Yond 57M is built
The B.Yond 57M has explorer cues in its look: a white hull with a grey superstructure on top. The exterior is by Igor Lobanov. There are four decks, and Benetti assigns each a separate use. On the upper deck the saloon covers 115 square metres, with a dining table for 14.
Buyers choose between three sterns. The Beach version gets a 161.8-square-metre beach area with a 15-square-metre pool and a sliding sofa, plus a garage deck of about 100 square metres that can be reconfigured. Air adds a touch-and-go helicopter pad on the upper deck, used as a veranda the rest of the time. Water turns the space over to storage for toys, dive gear, submarines and tenders.
The hybrid system
Benetti says its E-Mode Hybrid System lets the yacht cruise and stay at anchor with zero emissions. An SCR system (selective catalytic reduction) cuts nitrogen oxides in the diesel exhaust. For air conditioning the yard uses a direct-expansion system and claims it saves up to 80 per cent compared with water-based systems. The main engines are not listed on Benetti's own site; YachtBuyer gives two MAN D2862 LE489 units of 1,430 hp each.
The B.Yond line and Benetti's order book
Benetti calls B.Yond its voyager line, with explorer styling, and describes it as the most environmentally friendly range in its portfolio. The 57M is the largest model in the line. The smaller B.Yond 37M came earlier; one of them, Jules, was on the water at this year's Cannes Yachting Festival.
According to BOATPro, Benetti has 40 yachts on order and under construction. The biggest is the custom 80-metre Project Iron Man. Azimut|Benetti, the group that owns the yard, is investing €100 million in its Tuscan shipyards.
B.Yond has no place in Benetti's Monaco programme this year. At the show, running from 23 to 26 September, the yard is premiering two B.Now yachts: the 67-metre Dagger, whose hybrid system runs on salt batteries, and the 50-metre Perseverance. Benetti has built its Monaco presence around the Green Route programme and 20 years of its hybrids, counted from its first diesel-electric yacht in 2006.
