Enrico Gennasio, the sole owner of Cantieri di Pisa, has taken direct operational charge of the Tuscan yard with the title of amministratore unico, or sole director. The yard announced it on 14 September 2026. Gennasio bought the shipyard in June 2021 through Holding Meg, which controls half of Alfagomma, his hydraulics group in Lombardy. "Today we are taking another step forward with an organisation designed to support the shipyard's future growth, the consolidation of the refit business, and the brand's return to the new-build market," he said.
Two boats under construction, the range still in design
The yard has two boats under construction, the Custom 40 and the 80 Veloce. The bigger one is the Custom 40, the first all-metal yacht in the yard's history, from a builder that made its name on fast planing yachts. Antonio Luxardo designed it. According to the yard, it is being built for a European owner.
The rest of what the yard has shown since 2024 remains in design. Among them the range: Akhir covers speed, Polaris long-distance cruising, Saturno the classic look.

A 37.5-metre steel explorer from the custom division, sold to a French owner, was due in the water in summer 2026. We found no report of a launch or delivery, and the yard has published nothing on it since announcing the sale.
Refit volume, the site and the money
According to the yard, its refit division completed more than 30 projects in 2025, with a combined length of more than 1,500 metres. The site on the Canale dei Navicelli outside Pisa covers 24,000 square metres, with a 300-tonne travel lift, a 670-tonne ship lift and 3,400 square metres of covered space going up. Six million euros went in over two years, and Yacht Style reported a €27 million order book at Cannes in 2024. Twenty people are on the direct payroll, with about ten more specialists to come and an indirect workforce of 200 to 300. Since September 2024 it has worked with the Genoese builder T. Mariotti on projects larger than it can take on without outside help.
The yard before Gennasio
Gino Bini and Antonio Sostegni founded the yard in 1945 at Limite sull'Arno, building wooden boats for the finance police. Yachts came from 1957, and an early-1960s series named after celestial bodies is where Polaris and Saturno got their names. The Akhir planing motor yachts of the 1970s made the brand. Tankoa of Genoa ran due diligence in January 2021 and walked away; Gennasio bought five months later, and Pisa extended the concession to 2040 and cut the yard's fees.
