Saudi Arabia is putting a superyacht show on the international calendar. The Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina will host the inaugural Red Sea Yacht Show on the Kingdom's Red Sea coast, and the announcement, reported on 29 July 2026, lands the country a berth alongside Monaco, Cannes and Dubai.

The dates matter as much as the venue. The show runs 14–17 October 2027, deep in the Mediterranean off-season, and that timing is the whole pitch: while the Med empties out for winter, Saudi wants to sell the Red Sea as the place a yacht goes next.

The event

The first edition is aiming high. Organisers are targeting more than 50 superyachts on display, 150 exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors, with the marina berthing yachts up to 120 metres.

The ambition is broad. Per the announcement, the show "aims to bring together yacht owners, builders, brokers, designers, investors and luxury brands." No organiser executive was quoted by name.

Winter charter, by design

An October show is a deliberate move on the calendar. The Mediterranean season winds down in autumn, and the Caribbean is the usual answer for owners chasing warm water into winter. Saudi is proposing a closer alternative for European fleets: a warm Red Sea winter, a few days' cruise from the Suez Canal rather than an Atlantic crossing.

The infrastructure is being built to back the claim. The Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina recently earned TYHA Five Gold Anchor accreditation, the top tier of an international marina rating, and the wider coast has more than 3,500 new berths planned across projects like Red Sea Global, AMAALA and NEOM's Sindalah island.

The state behind the show

The show does not stand on its own. It is the retail shopfront for a state-backed build-out under Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia's plan to diversify its economy away from oil, with marine tourism as one of the pillars.

The marketing push is already running. At the Monaco Yacht Show 2025, Saudi Tourism Authority chief executive Fahd Hamidaddin launched a "Super Yacht Arabia" campaign aimed squarely at the industry's decision-makers. A dedicated show on home water is the logical next step: a place to put the coastline, the marinas and the sales floor in one room.

It also sharpens a regional contest. Dubai has spent years building itself into the Gulf's yachting hub, and Saudi Arabia is now bidding for the same superyacht economy from the Red Sea side. Two Gulf players, two coastlines, one market to win.

The open questions

The targets are ambitious, and a first edition has to prove them. Whether Western owners and brokers show up in the promised numbers is untested, and the region draws its share of scrutiny from that same audience. A debut show announced more than a year out is a statement of intent, not a result.

The Red Sea Yacht Show is Saudi Arabia's entry ticket to the boat-show circuit, and it is timed for winter on purpose. Whether the yachts and the buyers follow is the question October 2027 will answer.

For now, the Kingdom has done the one thing that puts a destination on the map for the yachting trade: booked a date and named a number. The rest gets settled on the quay.
