Designer description Don Shead Yacht Design

The history of the brand

Don Shead Yacht Design was created by world-renowned naval architect and racer Don Shead, who left a big mark on the yachting industry. Among other things, the master played an important role in the development ofSunseekerwhere he was invited to develop a sports lineup. At that time, the shipyard did not have the money to hire a specialist of this level and the management offered him a royalty partnership. This was the start of a fruitful partnership that lasted many years.

Philosophy .

Don's work can be characterized by three main parameters - speed, performance, safety. His handwriting can be traced in every job, be it a racing boat or a luxury yacht.

Specialization .

The studio became famous for its naval architecture for professional sports boats, but over time the portfolio expanded to include superyachts.

Collaboration with shipyards

For the private market, the studio has designed over 250 models and built good relationships with many shipyards. Of course, the vast majority of the boats were built by Sunseeker, but the company has also worked successfully with Brooke Marine, Feadship, Devonport and other companies.

Landmark projects

One of the latest works of the studio was the 37-meter hull for Sunseeker, on which Devocean and Moliver were built. The boat boasts an attractive performance with a top speed of 24 knots and a range of 1800 nautical miles.

Team

Don Seed owned a small studio in Hampshire, but after retiring to a well-deserved pension, he closed the company.
