What Is a Model Page?
Most of itBoat is built from model pages. A model page is the full reference for one yacht model built by a shipyard — how it is designed and configured, with the structured detail behind it: specifications, layouts, performance figures, and production history. It describes the model as a whole, across every hull built, not one specific boat.
A model page is also where buying starts. From it you can order a new yacht of that model, built to order by the shipyard, and you can see the listings — specific boats of that model currently for sale. Listings fill in over time, so a model may have many, a few, or none yet.
Built Data-First
itBoat is built data-first. We gather complete, structured information on every model and every parameter, so you can compare yachts properly — by design, performance, layout, and size — before price ever enters the picture. That is what a model page is for.
Models and Listings Are Different Things
A model and a listing are different entities. A model is the design, built and sold as new by the shipyard. A listing is one real boat of that model offered for sale right now — pre-owned, or a new yacht from stock — with its own year, condition, location, and price. One model can have many listings attached to it, or none.
To buy a boat that is available today rather than order a new build, go to the Marketplace, where listings live — see Listing Pages for how a listing works. Not sure which way fits? itBoat's accredited experts can point you to the right shipyard or the right listing.
