The Riviera 78 Motor Yacht, the latest addition to the Riviera fleet, debuted at the 2022 Sanctuary Cove Boat Show. This yacht represents the pinnacle of Riviera’s craftsmanship, blending Australian and Italian design influences to create a sophisticated and spacious vessel.
Key Features and Layout
The aft platform of the Riviera 78 Motor Yacht is one of its most remarkable features. It articulates downwards, making it safe for relaxing in the water or easing off with scuba gear. The wide stairs match the platform’s width, doubling as a passerelle, adding to the safety and uniqueness of the design. The massive garage provides ample storage space with teak-covered stairs for easy access.
The cockpit area is accessible from both port and starboard sides and includes a port side docking station. It features an aft couch, an L-shaped settee, and chairs perfect for alfresco dining, all supported by a summer kitchen on the port side. Inside, the yacht boasts 360 degrees of view through large windows, allowing natural light to flood the area. The main salon includes an L-shaped couch, a small sofa on the port side, and a wet bar. The starboard side galley is equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, and the latest Miele appliances, making it ideal for preparing meals while at sea.
Luxury and Performance
The yacht is equipped with Sea Zone, a system that allows control of various functions such as pumps, engines, lighting, and sound from multiple stations, including a charging station. The bow area features a sunken settee area, capable of seating about 12 people. It includes a table for relaxing and sunbathing and can also accommodate a davit crane for placing a tender or jet ski. The bridge deck aft is designed for relaxation with a wet bar and a seating area. It even includes a day head, making it convenient for long periods spent on the upper deck.
Below deck, the yacht includes the master suite, guest quarters, and VIP accommodations. The full beam master suite offers a sense of volume and light, featuring a large work desk, makeup station, walk-in closet, and a full ensuite with twin basins, a separate shower, and a private head. The VIP suite in the bow also includes an ensuite bathroom, while the portside guest cabin offers convertible twin beds and a shared day head. The starboard guest cabin features a bunk setup.
Powered by twin V12 MAN 2000 horsepower engines, the Riviera 78 Motor Yacht offers a cruising speed of around 26 knots, with a top speed of 33 knots. The yacht is equipped with Humphrey zero-speed stabilization fins, ensuring a smooth ride even in rolling seas.
Summary
The Riviera 78 Motor Yacht combines luxury, performance, and sophisticated design. Its spacious layout, advanced technology, and high-quality finishes make it a standout in the luxury motor yacht market. Whether entertaining guests or enjoying a day at sea, this yacht offers everything needed for an exceptional boating experience.
