The new yacht from the Turkish shipyard Sirena 78 debuted at the Cannes Yacht Show 2023. This four ensuite cabin yacht boasts a top speed of around 25 knots and an impressive 1,600 nautical mile range at lower revs. The Sirena 78 features a 6.5-meter beam, providing ample space and luxury on board.
Interior
The deck salon area immediately impresses with its expansive glass windows. Notably, this version lacks an inner or lower helm station, a deliberate design choice. The Sirena 78 is available in three versions: enclosed upper deck, semi-enclosed upper deck, and open deck. The semi-enclosed version features freestanding furniture and a stairwell leading to the upper deck. With no lower helm, the space is dedicated to social living, with a lounge aft and dining forward.
The galley is an open, inviting space, perfect for gatherings and cooking. While this yacht is often crewed, the open galley provides a communal atmosphere. Options include a more traditional, private galley, shifting the dining area across the beam.
The aft lounge features freestanding furniture, allowing customization to the owner's preferences. This flexibility, combined with ample storage and a wine cooler, enhances the luxurious feel. The absence of a lower helm opens up the forward area, creating an unparalleled open living space.
Accommodation
Below decks, the Sirena 78 offers four ensuite cabins. The owner's stateroom amidships showcases the yacht's impressive beam, providing exceptional space and luxury. Two layout options include a his-and-hers ensuite or a walk-in dressing room for additional storage.
On Deck
The Sirena 78's decks are practical and spacious. The transom door is a useful feature, especially when not mooring stern-to. The side decks are wide, with high guardrails for safety. The foredeck features a sun pad and a working area for the crew.
Upper Deck
The upper deck distinguishes itself from a typical Flybridge with its semi-enclosed design. Drop-down windows and a sunroof provide ventilation, while the aft deck remains open and inviting. The upper deck includes a bar area, galley, and freestanding furniture, creating a versatile and luxurious space.
Upper Helm Station
The upper deck also houses the sole helm station for the semi-enclosed and enclosed versions. The helm features triple multifunction display screens, providing comprehensive control over radar, plotter, ship systems, and engine displays. The boat runs on shafts, offering efficient cruising between 10 and 16 knots.
Crew Accommodation
The crew quarters include a twin berth cabin, a single berth cabin, and a shared ensuite and shower area. The hydraulic bathing platform provides access to these quarters.
Engine Room
The engine room is a standout feature, showcasing Sirena's build quality. The space is well-ventilated, with easily accessible fuel filters and generators. The twin MAN engines benefit from ample air intake, ensuring efficient performance.
Driving Experience
During a sea trial, the Sirena 78 demonstrated excellent stability and smooth performance. With uprated MAN 1,550 turbo diesel engines, the yacht achieves a top speed of around 25-26 knots. At 12 knots, fuel consumption is approximately 80 liters per hour per engine. The boat feels agile and responsive, with excellent visibility from the helm station.
The Sirena 78 impresses with its spacious interior and exterior, customizable options, and efficient performance. If you're looking for a serious cruising yacht with long-distance range and speed, the Sirena 78 should be on your shortlist.
