The FIM 470 Regina is a standout in its segment, featuring unique and innovative elements. FIM, a company with a long history in boat manufacturing, has leveraged its experience to design its own models with fresh ideas. One notable feature is the forward deck, which opens up to reveal sunpads along the sides, creating a central area that can accommodate tables and a covering awning. This design transforms the deck into a convivial space away from the quay. The yacht, built for Mediterranean cruising, offers expansive outdoor areas, including a cockpit that extends its livable area by opening the sides to form a wide terrace on the sea.
Luxurious Features
The FIM 470 Regina boasts a high level of luxury and practicality. The submersible swimming platform can support a tender up to 600 kg, and the cockpit is designed to seat up to six people for dining. The kitchen unit is well-equipped with a refrigerator, wine cellar, and induction hobs. The entire area under the hardtop can be enclosed with transparent sheets, allowing use even in less favorable weather. Below deck, the master cabin located at the bow features a lot of natural light and can be converted from a single bed into separate beds. Each cabin has direct access to its bathroom, and the guest cabin functions as a second owner's cabin, complete with a small sofa and a unique shower setup.
Performance and Handling
The FIM 470 Regina is equipped with powerful propulsion options. With D8 Volvo Penta engines (600 horsepower each), it uses the IPS800 system, which provides the performance equivalent to two 800-horsepower engines on a shaft line. Diesel propulsion options include D6 engines with 480 horsepower. The yacht planes at 12 knots without lowering the interceptors, with a cruising speed of 20 knots at 2200 rpm and fuel consumption of 6.5 liters per mile. Adjusting the interceptors improves trim and fuel efficiency, maintaining a consumption rate of 6.2 liters per mile at higher speeds. The boat demonstrates impressive responsiveness and stability, handling various sea conditions effectively and achieving a top speed of 35 knots.
The FIM 470 Regina offers a blend of innovative design, luxurious features, and robust performance, making it a versatile and appealing choice for yacht enthusiasts. Its unique elements, such as the convertible forward deck and spacious cockpit, set it apart from other yachts in its class.
