On Deck
The platform design stands out with built-in chocks for the dinghy that easily pop out to fit a Williams 385. It sinks down to the water and floats off smoothly. The platform extends out and drops down with a built-in staircase for easy access in and out of the water. There's ample storage on either side for wet gear, fenders, and ropes, all of which drain off to keep the boat clean.
Entering the cockpit, the huge seating area features a teak table that opens out and joins the bench nicely. This area can be converted into a massive sun pad by dropping the table to the level of the seats and filling it with cushions. Storage under the seats is easily accessible with gas rams, eliminating the need to move cushions. Engine room access is beneath the cockpit, and the area can be enclosed with wrap-around covers in about 30 seconds, offering quick protection from the elements.
Interior
The interior is designed for maximum utility and comfort. The doors slide in, and a button-operated drop-down window creates a bar area. The Gourmet Cruiser version features a spacious galley, perfect for long stays on the boat. The galley is equipped with two deep chest fridge-freezers, a cooler built into the worktop, another fridge, a double sink, induction cooking, an oven, and plenty of storage space.
The boat has four forward-facing seats, valuable for navigation and socializing. The helm seat is designed with an adjustable gap for comfort, allowing the helmsman to sit with feet up. The wheel is adjustable, providing a close and comfortable driving position. The boat features an anchor camera for easy monitoring and control of the anchor from the helm.
Accommodation
The 440 offers two and three cabin arrangements. The three-cabin layout includes a double cabin, a twin cabin, and a day head. The cabins are spacious, with good double beds, hang storage, and additional seating. The owner's cabin features glass doors, Walnut cabinetry, and good natural light from hull windows and skylights. The ensuite bathroom has a separate shower cubicle to keep the sink and toilet dry.
Engine Room
Access to the engine room is through a hatch in the cockpit. The generator is well-insulated, barely noticeable when the hatch is closed. The engine room is spacious, with a built-in step on top of the engine for convenience. Headroom over the engines is limited, but the space is wide and neatly organized, making it easy to access and check all components. However, removing an engine would require physically removing the entire deck, as there is no powered hatch option.
