Model J/105 has been in existence since 1992 and is thus a significant longevity in today's market, where models sometimes replace each other after three or four years. However, the J/105 has been so successful that it is today the most popular boat longer than 30 feet in the U.S. with over 700 hulls of this type launched in the past 20 years. The main purpose of the yacht is obvious and not hidden - it is a racer of one design category without any claims to long sailing or long stay on board.
In return, the owner receives a fast yacht with very high stability, capable of carrying full sails when most rivals have already taken the reefs. And the success of the J/105 in the Rolex Fastnet Race and Rolex Middle Sea Race is further confirmed.
