The Southerly 420 is an attempt by the yard to find a new design and try a new North European style architecture with a central cockpit. Given the positioning of the yacht as an open sea cruiser, this solution seems quite logical. In terms of interior layout, the yacht comes close to the raised saloon style boats, giving the crew and guests an excellent view from the saloon.
Attention is drawn to the interesting layout of the cockpit, where the winches are placed near the helm so that the latter is quite comfortable to work with them. Given that the yacht is equipped with an automatic jib, no second person is required to manoeuvre at all.
