Exterior and Interior Design
Discovery 48 is designed by the young architect Oscar Mayr. The interiors were created at the shipyard and have a quiet contemporary design.
Facilities on board
The Model 48 has all the features of Discovery, such as the central cockpit and high deckhouse. The yacht is available in two versions: the Ocean version has single wheel steering and two luxury cabins with en suite bathrooms. The Riviera version is available with two handwheels and has a more open cockpit. Living deck offers accommodation in three cabins, with master cabin in the bow. A lower aft bathing platform is also available, but as an option.
Features
Designed for safe and easy handling by small crew, the yacht comes standard with a tried and tested set with two forward sails, a genoa and a self-tipping jib, while the mainsail can be twisted into the mast by electric drive. The two rudder pens ensure the yacht is controllable in all heels. Discovery 48 comes standard with an almost complete set of equipment including a generator, air conditioning/heating system, bow thruster, electric winches and navigation tools.
Swimming area
Discovery 48 is certified for ocean cruising and has high reliability and seaworthiness. Depending on the chosen keel, the boat has a draft of 1.85 m or 2.25 m.
