The Nordhavn 475 is the first in a new series of boats, showcasing several enhancements and new features compared to its predecessor, the 43.
Cockpit
The cockpit of the 475 is significantly larger than that of the 43. This increase in size allows for more activities, such as accommodating more people around the table, fighting fish, or entertaining guests. The extra space provides a more versatile and functional area for various activities.
Galley
The 475 has been extended by two feet, allowing for the inclusion of two large picture windows. These windows enhance the sense of space and openness in the galley. The layout offers options for comfortable seating with either two large chairs or a big bench seat that can fold out into a berth. The dinette area is also larger, providing more space for dining and relaxation.
Pilothouse
Improvements in the pilothouse include a large central picture window that expands the field of vision for better navigation and viewing. The pilot berth has been enlarged, offering more storage space behind it for sea bags or additional equipment. The overall space in the pilothouse has been increased, enhancing comfort and functionality.
Engine Room
The engine room in the 475 is two feet larger than in the 43, providing more space for equipment, oil, coolant, and spare parts. The electrical distribution panel has been moved to the engine room, freeing up space in the lazarette, which is also two feet bigger. This redesign improves accessibility and storage capacity.
Extended Deck and Flybridge
One of the major changes in the 475 is the extended boat deck, which now includes a flybridge as a standard feature. This deck can carry a 12-foot dinghy inside the pipe rails, and with the rails removed, it can accommodate a 14-foot dinghy. The space is versatile, allowing for storage of a jetski, kayaks, or other equipment.
The flybridge, now standard with the boat, is part of a one-piece mold that includes the seating and boat deck. This design reduces weight up high and makes the flybridge larger and more user-friendly.
