In 2018 the Southerly 540 replaced the Southerly 535 and was voted Yacht of the Year by the American magazine Cruising World.
Exterior and interior design
The line of «large» Southerly was designedEd Dubois.. The handwriting of the maestro is recognizable in everything: the Southerly 540 has the features of a superyacht. The vertical and horizontal portholes have been added to the signature circular interior glazing. Accordingly, the aft master suite has excellent lighting and a chic interior. The central cockpit is divided into zones: a work cockpit, with two control posts and a gigaccoat winch, and a rest area where guests are isolated from the gear. There are also two tripods for quick change of sails, an optional gennaker and an impressive grotto with a twist in the geek (option: twist in the mast).
Amenities on board
The Southerly 540 comes in a single three cabin configuration with a «sideboard». The family of travelers will not be constrained in space. Home-like coziness, created by high-quality wooden finishes, will provide comfort on the road and in the parking lot. On the road you can take everything: there is plenty of space for storage. Separately worth mentioning are bathrooms: here the convenience of the hotel level.
Features
The Southerly 540 is for those who know what they're looking for. The lift keel «folds» down when you touch an obstacle and you can change the draft even while sailing. Once you've reached your goal, you can take your time back - 800 litres of water and 530 litres of fuel guarantee a long holiday.
Swimming area
The 17-meter (15 meters along the waterline) vessel will completely overwhelm the ocean. Even if the weather spoils, you can prepare the boat for the storm on your own - everything is at hand for the small crew.
