Exterior and interior design
The Southerly 590 is designed by Dubois Naval Architects and Southerly Design on the basis of the 57RS predecessor with minor modifications. The waterline length is almost equal to the total length, which is typical for modern boats. Another modern feature is the aerodynamic superstructure. Otherwise the Southerly 590 is a classic boat. This applies to both shotgun weapons (mast 25 m) and the organization of the deck and cockpit, as well as the interior decoration. Inside you will not find trendy sharp corners and straight lines. On the contrary, everything is good, safe and made to the highest standards. The only thing that the owners have noticed is that the tank is overloaded with different devices. There's an anchor winch, two rod rods and a locker. Otherwise, the deck is clean and the rigging has been removed inside the superstructure.
Comfort on board.
The 590th is probably the most controversial yacht in the brand's range. Given the placement of a hired crew, it is possible to provide two cabins at the stern. The saloon has different levels and as the galley is located closer to the bow, serving dinner in the cockpit will become a real quest.
Features
To enter the 55-65-foot market, Southerly decided relatively recently. This has led to a number of compromises: the operation and maintenance of a retractable keel «mini-maxi» goes beyond the usual family cruiser.
Sailing area
Considering all the above, the potential of Southerly 590 in itself is limited only by the ice of the poles. There's a ton of water and 1.3 tons of fuel aboard. What else would you need?
